Hey Diary
Oh my gosh, today was so much fun I can barely sit still! I went over to the neighbor’s house this afternoon because he said he had some special silver candlesticks that needed polishing. He’s always so nice about showing me how to do things properly with my hands.
He invited me into his cozy living room and handed me one of those long, thick candlesticks. It felt so smooth and heavy in my palm! He stood right behind me, guiding my hands while I rubbed the polishing cloth up and down, up and down, making sure I got every little inch nice and shiny. I kept asking, “Like this? Harder? Or should I go slower and really work it in?” He had this deep voice when he answered, telling me to use firm strokes and get into all the grooves.
I made sure to polish it really thoroughly, rubbing in circles at the base and then sliding my cloth all the way up to the tip until it was glistening and slippery. There was even some warm polish dripping down my fingers! I giggled and told him it was getting so wet and messy, but I loved making it sparkle. He kept watching me with that look in his eyes while I worked on the second one, twisting my hands around it and giving it long, loving strokes until it was perfectly smooth.
I told him that the candlesticks were so big and impressive that they needed extra special attention. He laughed and said I was a natural at polishing, especially the way I gripped them so eagerly. By the end, my arms were a little tired but I felt like I did an amazing job. I told him I’d be happy to come back anytime he needs help rubbing his silver until it shines.
Now I’m home and I can’t stop thinking about how good it felt to handle them like that… all that rubbing and stroking. Maybe next time he’ll let me practice even longer!
Hehe, until tomorrow
